UT Remembers 2018
UT Remembers
An annual day of remembrance honoring members of The University of Texas at Austin community who died in the previous year.

It has become a tradition to gather for UT Remembers, held on the last day of classes for the spring semester, to honor those members of our community who have died during the past year. Given the need to avoid public gatherings on campus, the UT Remembers program scheduled for May 8, 2020 will be canceled.

The nature of this intimate program would not translate to an online format and provide the same level of dignity and respect each person being remembered deserves.  Our hope is that we’ll return to the world of assembling together safely by May of 2021, and at that time, will plan to honor all of those whose lives were lost this past year and for those whose passing will take place in the year to come.

In spite of the circumstances prohibiting the program from taking place on May 8, we will continue the act of honoring and remembering these members of our community, individually, and as a university, for the contributions each has made to our campus.

“So long as we live, they too shall live, for they are now a part of us as we remember them.”
